The Beginning: I got my first Labrador as a companion.  I soon learned the

Labrador was the quintessential mans best friend and most versatile canine

imaginable.  My love and respect for the breed inspired me to volunteer for local

clubs, attend educational seminars and compete in AKC conformation, obedience

and Hunt Test Events.  More than show dogs or hunting companions my Labradors

are a part of my family.

History: I have been raising and competing with Labradors since 1996.

I am also an American Kennel Club Judge and the Past President &

Vice President of the Puget Sound Labrador Retriever Club.

Membership Affiliations: American Kennel Club, Puget Sound Labrador

Retriever Club, Rose City Labrador Retriever Club, Labrador Retriever Club of

Great Britain

Hunting Dogs:  Do my dogs retrieve?  The answer is emphatically yes! I breed a

gentleman’s hunting dog. I subscribe to the English Labrador standard for retrieving  disposition which does not require electronic or force training in order to have a good retriever.  I want a dog that has the natural drive to retrieve all the while being a enjoyable companion.

Devonshire Labradors Today: I have a small kennel located in Portland Oregon in the USA.  I am dedicated to preserving the wonderful English type,

temperament and versatility that is the hallmark of the Labrador Retriever.  I

compete primarily in the AKC conformation ring along with some AKC obedience

and Breed Club working certificate hunt tests.

I have English type Labradors and believe that a Labrador can have it "all", good

temperament, good health, beauty and type.  I look at the whole dog. The dogs I

own have been cleared of hip & elbow dysplasia by the Orthopedic Foundation

For Animals and eyes cleared by a canine Ophthalmologist, hearts cleared by a canine cardiologist and we also do a number of genetic tests. It is important that

my dogs make wonderful family companions so puppies are raised from

birth in our home.

Devonshire dogs have gone as family companions, show dogs, Guide Dogs, Diebetic Altert Dogs, Therapy Dogs, Canine Companions for Independence dogs and hunting dogs.

The Devonshire pedigree can be found in the UK, Canada, Scottland, Holland, Denmark, Finland, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Russia & Poland.
