Upcoming Litters & Puppies

We are expecting two litters in May of 2024. Both litters will be raised by Allison. To be placed on the waiting list for one of these puppies, please complete the New Owner Questionnaire.  Learning more about potential new owners will help us better choose the puppy that's the right fit for their new home.

All our puppies come microchipped, vaccinated, vet checked, and we pay for the microchip registration with the AKC CAR program. Parents have eyes cleared,  OFA hips/elbows, cardiac heart, and genetic PRA, EIC, and HNPK clearances.

First Litter

Our Venus (Devonshire Goddess of Love) and Fade (BISS GCH HySpire Fade to Black) litter is due May 8. It will be an all-black litter. Puppies will be ready for their new homes in the first week of July.

TRUE COLORS

AKC purebred Labrador Retrievers only come in three colors, black, yellow, and chocolate. Say no to "silvers"! We do not breed "silvers" or any other color trait. Read why "silvers" are not true Labradors,  The Issue of the Silver Labrador - The Labrador Retriever Club, Inc.

About Our Breeding Program

Our priority is to produce excellent temperament and health in a beautiful dog. We breed a dog that is a fun, loyal companion and a great house dog. These characteristics make them valued family members. As dedicated breeders, we are a part of the  AKC Breeder of Merit. The Breeder of Merit program honors those breeders who consistently meet the high standards of the AKC and who actively promote the sport of purebred dogs. One of the program requirements is to certify that applicable health screens are performed on the breeding stock as recommended by the national club, The Labrador Retriever Club, Inc. All our breeding dogs have been cleared by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for hip and elbow dysplasia. In addition, hearts have been cleared by a canine cardiologist and eyes by an American College of Veterinary (ACOV) ophthalmologist. We do numerous genetic tests, among them, progressive retinal atrophy (PRA), exercise-induced collapse (EIC), and hereditary nasal parakeratosis (HNPK).

When it comes to raising puppies, the litter is whelped in our home. Around 4 to 5 weeks, the puppies transition to the puppy area with their mother. Here, they learn to keep their bed clean and potty in a designated spot. They also receive valuable lessons from their mother as they interact with her full-time. Further socialization happens here, as they learn to adjust to lots of activity and sounds and are introduced to other dogs. We work with the puppies daily and track their progress. It's what we love!

More You Need to Know

We require anyone getting a Labrador from us to come to our home to pick up their puppy, even if they live outside the state or country. We take a deposit that is refundable if we cannot provide you with the sex and color you have requested, otherwise your deposit is non-refundable. All of our puppies are sold on limited AKC registration and a spay/neuter (non-breeding) agreement. Limited registration with the AKC means that offspring from the dog cannot be registered.

If you are interested in a Devonshire dog please tell us more about yourself and submit the New Owner Questionnaire and we will contact you about getting on our list.  We do not sell dogs for breeding.

Once on the waiting list, we'll notify you within a week of whelping. The initial visit is after weaning between 6 to 7 weeks old. You will spend time with the puppies and we will answer all your questions to get you ready for your new family member and send you home with lots of valuable information.  The second visit is when the puppies go to their new homes between 7 and 8 weeks old.

We ask families to visit and spend time interacting with the puppies. Having raised the puppies, we share with the families the characteristics of each dog, such as activity level and outgoing nature. From there, we work on determining which puppy would best fit your family.

If traveling to our home is not an option, we'll gladly direct you to a Labrador Retriever club in your area. Local clubs typically provide a list of upcoming litters and available puppies and adult dogs.
